Nicola Negri

Nicola Negri is Professor of Economic Sociology at the University of Turin working on social mobility, inequality, social exclusion, poverty, and welfare policies using longitudinal analysis. He has worked on FP4 “ESOPO: Dynamics social assistance and inequalities”, coordinated by Prof. Chiara Saraceno, and “Class, status and vulnerability” with Prof. Arnaldo Bagnasco. A major strand of his recent work has focused on identifying the coping strategies enacted by families in Italy during the post-fordism period with a particular focus on the participation of women and young people in the labour market. He has been member of the Government Committee on Poverty and Social Exclusion in Italy (2007-2010).
