Martin Seelieb-Kaiser and Jacqueline O’Reilly presented some early conceptual debates from their research to the International Sociological Association conference in Yokohama in July. Martin outlined their empirical analysis examining the concept of “outsiderness” and how this could be examined using EU SILC data. Jacqueline presented the aims and objectives of the style project at the ISA meeting. It also provided the opportunity to meet with a number of researchers working on issue of youth employment in the BRICs.
