In the upcoming 22nd CES Conference (Paris, 8-10 July 2015) a session has been organized on “What prospects for an inclusive job-rich recovery in South Europe?” The session comprises papers by participants of the STYLE project (Ana Guillén & Rodolfo Gutiérrez, Emanuele Ferrangina, Maria Petmesidou & Paola Villa). The contributions critically review the magnitude and profile of the job crisis in the region with a main emphasis on youth labour markets. They map vulnerabilities in terms of gender and disadvantaged NEETs (young people not in education, employment or training), comparatively examine the family-work interface, and bring into focus welfare and labour market reform strategies framed as “social innovation”. Highlighting the barriers to and prospects for inclusive job-rich growth in SE constitutes a common thread that runs through all five papers. The session is chaired by Maria Petmesidou, and Jackie O’Reilly has been invited to be the discussant.
